Ive suddenly started to get this issue when running the Battlefield 4 game. Everything is fine until I am trying to join a game server - it hangs on the joining server screen and the I get the error message -bf4.exe - Apllication errorThe application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005).
Click to close the application.Ive tried almost everything to sort it to no avail. There is mention that possibly a windows update has caused this. All fixed now. Was an issue of 2 programs conflicting. Basically the Firewall and Anti virus. For some reason I had both Microsoft security essentials and a paid licensed version of AVG. I thought that I had removed the Windows security when I haddownloaded the AVG following a new hard disk installation, but f0r some reason it was installed again during a windows update.
I had uninstalled the AVG when the problems started to try and find the issue but was still getting the error code. Eventually sortedby AVG who did a complete uninstall and clean install. All seems good now. Hi,Since you have tried Windows disk error checking tool, I think your system should be healthy. The error 0xC0000005 is generated by an illegal 'memory access violation'. This can be caused by anything from faulty RAM, an incorrect/corrupt devicedriver, poorly written/updated software and more commonly under Windows, malware/adware installations. Therefore, according to current condition, I suggest to update drivers from manufacturer website to see result in advance. Then, press your game icon and press'Repair Install'.
Also, try run game as administrator to check this issue. If you suspect Windows Updates cause error, you could rollback recent updates to see whether can fix problem. In addition, you could also visit battlefield official forum to see more similar cases, maybe their post can give you some prompt. Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. So I have been struggling for months now and battling with a badimage error with a code of 0xc000012 and I have spoken to far too many people for a solution all completely usesless. I have been told to do this 'windows clean up' or this 'Visual C newest update'. To be frank, I am fuming at the fact that no one can help and EA/Origin has done buger all to fix it or even help me as far as I can see. Anyways,The problem started after a little while of enjoying some battlefield 4 on origin, happy days.
Then one day i go on to play and an error pops up saying bad image and some other stuff that i cant remeber. (error code 0xc00012). I could still play but it was a pain in the.
Also at this time origin kept requiring a sync every time I loaded it which really confused me. By the way this is PC BUT i do have an xbox version which doesn’t have any problems(if that helps). SOOOOOOOOO after a long time researching and rubbing a cheese grater against my head i decide i would try to reinstall it. Which deletes my game and still gives me the errors after. So i reset to a date and it still gave me the error but not my games. Well here i am now i tryed to uninstall me game AGAIN but now it is saying 'one of my files is corrupted. Please repair install' so i have to fix what i am about to delete.what???As you may have gathered i am not very good with PCs if you tell me my drivers are bad or something i will be a little confused and you would have to spell out EVERYTHING.
I havent had this computer long so I don’t think it’s the PC.I am increadibly desperate for help and would love for both problems (mainly the install repair AND THEN the bad image) to be solved. If you do know what is wrong you will have to talk me through on how to do these steps.Thank you, Monks (Matthew). For anyone to help you fully what windows are you on? From the reading I did on Error code 0xc000012 it is from windows so your best place to start is to run windows built in repair tool. Now do not let this make you smash your head just read it fully and take it slow and I will try my best to help you fix this. The best way and what made me learn PC's is a good old PC error and from the bad comes the good you will learn over time and just take it slow and read fully EDIT. First we make sure windows is good to go then we will move on too next parts of fixing your gameTest your windows for errors as a clean windows install does not always make a stable windows.NOTE: Running SFC does not guarantee the crash will not happen, but it will ensure it is not because a windows Dll or file is corrupted in windows. This works in all windows O/S vista Win7, Win8, Win8.1 and win 10 windows system file checker: Copy and past this to note pad and put it on your desktop.
As open programs can give you errors when you run this.sfc /scannow, ever hear of it if not your going to love this, it will inspect all the important windows files as well as the windows DLL files. If windows system file checker finds any issues with the windows files and windows DLL files it will replace them / try to fix them. This little tool as well as the event viewer on a PC saved me and fully helped me fix my BF4 issues as well as saved me many a format since I found it. This is the best toy they ever put in windows-For win7 go to start/ bottom left screen / windows globe. Right click in search type cmd and right click cmd pick run as administrator.-For win 8.1 right mouse click start bottom left of screen / windows box and pick command prompt administrator.1-Open administrator command prompt and close web pages and programs like Origin, Steam etc.2-Type or copy and paste in sfc /scannow and hit enter, This takes 5 min to 15 min SSD vs HD3-This can go one of a few ways. It fixed some errors. Could not fix all errors.
Does not finish checking and errors out. And the last one could not fix errors at all:/4-After its done REBOOT PC and Run sfc /scannow again even if you had no errors the first time or had errors, could not fix run sfc /scannow again and when its done a second time reboot. You need to do this a and get no errors 2 x in a row.5-So if you ran it 2x and no errors your safe you can stop. If you had errors first time but not the second then run sfc /scannow again and when its done reboot. You need to get could not find any errors 2 x to be safe. If it still finds errors try and run it a few more times until it finds no errors 2x AND ALWAYS REBOOT BETWEEN RUNNING sfc /scannow6-If you get a message indicating that it can not be repaired and you ran sfc /scannow more then 3x in a row on win vista or 7 mm you need a format or try repair win 7:/ But after format or repair and all updates are done run sfc /scannow to make sure your windows is stable same deal 2x error free reboot between them.NOTE-If your O/S is Win8 or Win 8,1 or win10 then you can run the next few command lines in administrator command prompt. Sorry for the late reply, but I am pleased to tell you that this was a successfull process that turned up no errors in both of the SFC runs. Then I ran the health scan ' dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth'.
The health scan did say 'The component store is repairable' and afterwards 'The operation is completed successfully' I assumed this was an issue to be on the safe side, therefore I ran the following command as you suggested ' dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth'. This gave another two messages that read 'The restore operation completed successfully' and 'The operation completed successfully'.I ran the command prompt processes in administrator as I am Windows 10. Just so you know I do have a minimal knowledge on SOME things so if you did need to ask me anything (like about the OS confusion before) I can help there. I was aware of the SFC but and Command Prompt but of course didn't have a clue what to type into it.Just so you know before I had a chance to do this process I repurchased BF4 in a last ditch effort to try and over write the files etc. This did not work but gave me a copy of the game which I would have needed to purchase at some point anyway.Anyway, if I am understanding this correctly the processes carried out went well and there shouldn't be an issue, however you are the brains here and I will wait for your response. My apologise if I have screwed things up with the purchase and I can't thank you enough for your response and help. Many thanks, Monks.
Yes on any windows it must be run as admin but good no errors now on to the next part to try and fix this for you.First, make sure all this is up to date even if done in the past please do again to be fully sure.Latest version of DirectX see this pageReinstall Microsoft C For my game PC's I install both x64 and x86 as it does not hurt the PCNOTE you need to select the x64 or the x86 file depending on what architecture your computer has. To find this out, Click Start, right click on 'Computer' and select 'Properties'. Under system type is should say '32-Bit Operating System' or '64-bit Operating System'. If 32-bit operating system, download the x86 file, and if 64-bit download the x64 file.Update your Microsoft.NET framework.Adobe Flash Player updateGo to Punk Buster site1- Download PB then extract files to your desktop.2- Open Punk Buster folder.3- Click on the PB setup and it will open.4-Add your BF4 game to punk buster its at the top of Punk Buster.5-Then update punk buster again at the top of Punk Buster.Reboot PCNext, do this please.Re- install origin only not your game just origin.1. Uninstall Origin completely from Windows Control Panel.2. Reboot your PC.

This is important to clear out any lingering registry files or directories.3. Download the latest Origin here:4. Install Origin when done reboot PCNext. I am not a fan of run origin or the game as admin as a few origin updates back it made it act silly for me but it is part of the fix for the error you have, So if it acts up just remove it after if it makes you nuts lol.Run the game as Administrator:Go to the Origin games folder (C:Program Files (x64)Origin GamesBattlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and check the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.Do the same with BF4x86.exe as well.Run Origin as Administrator:Go to C:Program Files (x86)Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. So all is going well, but I have come to the part where you said find (C:Program Files (x64)Origin GamesBattlefield 4) Now, when I go to these I only have 'Programme Files 86x' despite the fact I am running 64x.
However in this file I do have 'Origin' and 'Origin Games' where I do find a BF4 folder with various BF4 things like 'BF4WebHelper' also just 'BF4' with no '.exe' though.I am running on 64x (64 Bit) but these are the only folders I could find. There maybe a chance of a mistake made a long time ago as I only now know that I am 64x not 84x, but I can't think what I may have changed or weather I did even make a change in the past. Should I carry on in this 84x area on the 'BF4' (no '.exe') programme. I will wait for your reply.NOTE: at this point in time I do not have the game installed, I have only bought it off of Origin. (Not sure if you needed to know this or not)Thank you, Monks (Matthew). Lol the oh boy was just me late at night as I hate it when a PC does this stuff lol.
A fast google found this to do it as admin but if it is your PC you should be admin anyway but worth a try and good idea.Let me ask this in origin in games does BF4 show up? If it does lets try what it keeps asking for first.Open origin / log in and go to games tab1- Right mouse click on the BF4 game and pick repair game if the game shows lets see if this rebuilds files correct. A small trick I used in origin in the past is run repair game let it do its thing then when done reboot PC and run repair game again.
